A Certified Public Accountant as well as an attorney, Ms. McKenzie has an extensive background and experience in complex tax planning and strategies, detailed financial discovery and forensic accounting, case analysis, and litigation, all utilized to achieve favorable settlements for her clients. Prior to attending law school, she was a Tax Manager for one of the largest international accounting firms where she advised individuals, partnerships, closely-held corporations, and publicly traded corporations on complex tax planning and compliance matters. After law school, Ms. McKenzie became a Senior Trial Attorney for District Counsel, Department of Treasury, representing the Internal Revenue Service in complex and varied civil and criminal litigation. While with the Internal Revenue Service, she held the designation of Attorney Advisor to the Commissioner and to field personnel regarding matrimonial law matters. Prior to joining Schiller DuCanto & Fleck LLP in 2001, she was Of Counsel to an established matrimonial law firm in Highland Park, Illinois. Ms. McKenzie is a former Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, Chicago Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
