David Allen is a partner at Baker & Daniels LLP. He has practiced for more than 35 years. David received his J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law and B.A. from Williams College. David has developed a general practice in complex litigation (including commercial, tort, estate and trust, and intellectual property), health care law, and general corporate matters. His substantial trial experience includes serving as a lead counsel in a major commercial arbitration matter involving over 110 days of hearings. In addition, he has represented fiduciaries in a number of suits addressing the interpretation of wills and trusts, will and trust contests, accountings, claims for breach of fiduciary duty, and other related matters.

- Protected the confidentially of "peer review" materials privileged from discovery under the Illinois Medical Studies Act and similar statutes of other states
- Defended a multimillion dollar complaint filed in federal court by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission against manufacturers of aluminum wire
- Prosecuted a multimillion dollar complaint for breach of contract and breach of warranty filed in federal court against a supplier of component parts by client, a manufacturer of consumer goods, for costs incurred in effecting a nationwide retrofit of products in consumers' homes pursuant to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Act
- Defended a multimillion dollar complaint for breach of fiduciary duty filed in federal court against the trustees of a trust by client, the trust's beneficiary
- Prosecuted a multimillion dollar complaint filed in federal court by a beneficiary under a court-ordered settlement trust. Client filed the complaint against a corporate trustee for breach of its contractual and fiduciary obligations in transferring the client's funds, without notice or consent, to a non-corporate fiduciary
- Defended a multimillion dollar complaint for breach of contract filed against a manufacturer of consumer goods
- Defended a multimillion dollar claim against a manufacturer of medical products for breach of contract by its exclusive distributor under an international marketing agreement involving more than 110 days of hearings at the Chicago office of the American Arbitration Association
