Eric Samore is one of the founding partners of SmithAmundsen. He is chairperson of the firm's Class Action, Environmental and Toxic Tort practices. He concentrates his practice in defending a wide variety of class actions, business litigation, and environmental claims. He has defended more than 50 class actions, alleging consumer fraud, breach of contract, data privacy, and statutory violations in eight different states. In class actions, he has represented the world's biggest water company, one of the world's largest specialty pharmaceutical corporations, one of the world's major retailers, and one of the largest national litigation support firms. Eric has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for his legal ability and ethics. In addition, Eric was named a Leading Lawyer in class action/mass tort defense law, toxic torts defense law, products liability defense law, and personal injury defense law by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company. Eric obtained the lowest wrongful death verdict in Cook County for the calendar year on an admitted liability case; the jury awarded only $30,000 to the decedent's husband of 33 years. He has also written numerous articles and been a frequent speaker on a variety of industry issues. Prior to private practice, Eric served as law clerk to Justice Allen Hartman of the Illinois Appellate Court.
