Mr. Charlton-Perrin currently works in-house as an attorney in the Risk Control Department of the Lawyers Program at CNA - Global Specialty Lines. He defends attorneys in professional liability and ethical violation matters. He frequently lectures and consults on Risk Management and Ethical Issues. Formerly, Mr. Charlton-Perrin prosecuted attorneys for the Attorney, Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) and chaired the Ethics and ARDC Defense Practice Group at the Chicago law firm of Cassiday, Schade & Gloor LLP. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a B.A. and earned his M.A. with Distinction from DePaul University in Chicago. Mr. Charlton-Perrin received his J.D. from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1993. He is also admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. Currently, Mr. Charlton-Perrin is the Chair of the Standing Committee on ARDC for the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). He also Chairs the ARDC Mentor and Law Practice Management Committee for the Chicago Bar Association (CBA). Mr. Charlton-Perrin has published numerous articles and is a frequent seminar speaker on ethical, risk management and professional malpractice issues for bar groups and other professional organizations. Recently, he served as a Subject Matter Expert for the Accountants Professional Liability Insurance: In Focus Module of the PLUS RPLU Designation Curriculum. In 2007 and 2009, Mr. Charlton-Perrin was selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer by the legal journal Law and Politics in the Professional Liability Defense category. While employed at CNA Insurance Companies, Mr. Charlton-Perrin has won two Silver Focus awards for his work presenting a MCLE seminars on ethics to attorneys and a Bronze Focus award for his contributions to the Pro Commercial Lines newsletter, The Specialty Connection. He placed Second in a Humorous Speech Contest as a member of CNA club for Toastmasters International.
