Jonathan Merel is the founder of the Law Offices of Jonathan Merel, P.C., a Chicago law firm dedicated to providing effective family law services and representation to clients throughout the metropolitan area. Jonathan's experience encompasses all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, support, paternity, domestic violence restraining orders, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and post-dissolution enforcement. Although highly focused on finding quicker, more amicable solutions that minimize conflict and distress, Jonathan is also a tenacious courtroom advocate with an impressive track record of protecting his clients' best interests at trial. He has had particularly extensive experience obtaining favorable outcomes in high conflict divorce cases, contested child custody suits and disputes involving multimillion-dollar marital estates; accomplishments that have earned him a great deal of respect from fellow attorneys and judges in the Chicagoland legal community.

Jonathan earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison (B.A., 1999) and his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D., 2002).
