Thomas A. Demetrio is known throughout Illinois as one of the state's most respected and successful personal injury attorneys. He handles a wide variety of cases, with particular emphasis on aviation litigation, medical negligence, product liability and commercial litigation. At Corboy & Demetrio, P.C., Mr. Demetrio accepts clients in Chicago as well as throughout the state and nationwide.

During his career, Mr. Demetrio has established an impeccable track record, recovering more than $1 billion in settlements and $130 million in jury verdicts. He has also never lost an appeal. Mr. Demetrio takes great pride in having won the largest personal injury verdict upheld by the Illinois Supreme Court.

After he graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Demetrio attended the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. He received his Juris Doctor in 1973. Mr. Demetrio's outstanding legal ethics and impressive achievements have earned him numerous recognitions, including the highest rating of AV Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell. The National Law Journal named him one of the Nation's Top Ten Trial Lawyers, and he has been included in The Best Lawyers in America** every year since its inception.

Mr. Demetrio enjoys the opportunity to serve in leadership positions, having served as president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and The Chicago Bar Association. He frequently lectures on trial techniques and civil litigation for continuing legal education seminars worldwide and is the author of numerous articles concerning personal injury topics. Mr. Demetrio is a fellow of The Inner Circle of Advocates, the American Bar Foundation and the American College of Trial Lawyers, and serves as master of the bench for The Chicago Lincoln American Inn of Court.
