Edward F. Schrager, partner at Cohen Garelick & Glazier, concentrates his practice on business litigation, criminal defense (federal and state), and selected family law cases. In addition to decades dedicated to his practice and clients, Ed provides leadership for Indiana’s legal community. He has lectured at the Indiana University School of Law and the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. - I have been a registered/certified mediator since 1993. During this period of time, I have requested by various judges and chosen by lawyers to mediate a variety of domestic and general civil cases. Approximately 95% of the mediated cases settled.
Bar/Professional Activity:
- Served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Community Defender's Office from 2001-2007. Served on the Magistrate Judge Selection Committee at the request of two Chief Judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana 2002-2005. Have lectured extensively at the Indiana University Law School-Indianaplis and for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF). Designated as A-V by Martindale-Hubbell.
Pro bono/Community Service:
- I generally handle several pro bono cases each year. I have been on the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Plan for 22 years. This panel which originally consisted of several hundred lawyers has been reduced to less than 25 lawyers qualified to represent indigent clients charged with crimes in Federal Court.
