A former Jefferson County prosecutor early on in his career and admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association in 1972, William L. Hoge has extensive experience in the area of family law, with an emphasis on highly complex divorce and child custody cases. Mr. Hoge has a special understanding of the unique challenges of families dealing with alcoholism, substance abuse and domestic violence (EPOs and DVOs).
Bill Hoge is well respected by his legal peers for his honesty, integrity and trustworthiness, and has been recognized for these qualities as well as for his legal ability with awards and honors that include:
- The Louisville Bar Association's Judge Richard A. Revell Family Law Practitioner of the Year Award (1999)
- The Kentucky Bar Assocation's Continuing Legal Education Award (annually 1990-2002)
- Inclusion in the peer-reviewed Kentucky Super Lawyers listing every year since 2007
Mr. Hoge has lectured extensively on topics that include family law, domestic violence, ethics, trial techniques and mediation training. He is trained as both a family law mediator and a collaborative divorce lawyer.
In addition to his active participation as a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Louisville lawyer Bill Hoge is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, its committees Lawyers Helping Lawyers and Child Protection and Domestic Violence, and the Louisville Bar Association. He is also active in other legal, judicial and community organizations focused on issues involving children and domestic violence.
