Edward J. Walters Jr., a partner at the Baton Rouge law firm of Walters, Papillion, Thomas, Cullens, has been representing individuals in personal injury cases for more than 30 years. His practice focuses on all areas of personal injury and wrongful death matters, including product liability, auto accidents, truck accidents, construction site and industrial accidents, maritime and admiralty law, premises liability, aviation accidents, medical malpractice, and claims involving sexual abuse by professionals and others. Over the course of his career, Mr. Walters has also gained extensive experience in matters of commercial business litigation, Chinese drywall litigation, workers' compensation claims, insurance bad-faith claims and whistleblower claims.
Because of his significant courtroom experience and because of his dedication to the Louisiana Bar, the Baton Rouge Bar and to the Louisiana State University Law Center, Mr. Walters was honored in 2009 as a "Distinguished Attorney" by the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He has been board certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1988. He is a fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Walters was born in New Orleans. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University (B.S., 1969) and the Louisiana State University Law Center (J.D., 1975), where he is a member of the school's Hall of Fame.
