Mr. Hooks helps bring justice to individuals, businesses and professionals who have been wronged by others through both state and federal courts in Louisiana and throughout the United States as well as internationally. Mr. Hooks' practice has been built on the trust of other lawyers who refer and partner with him to represent the catastrophically injured and families of individuals, Jones Act Seamen, offshore workers,  who have been wrongfully killed.  Mr. Hooks has successfully represented clients and has collected tens of millions of dollars for clients who have been seriously burned, paralyzed, brain damaged, drowning victims and killed.  Representative clients include international labor unions, seaman and offshore worker unions, automobile dealerships, roofing contractors, foreign merchants, professionals in malpractice disputes, landowner pollution disputes, vessel owners in collisions, seamen injured on land and in international waters, longshoremen, oil and gas company claims in major oilfield blow outs, qui tam actions, class actions involving patients claims versus physicians, chemical exposures, and oil spills.  Mr. Hooks is a member of the leading team of maritime lawyers who represent injured parties in the British Petroleum Oil catastrophe that occurred off the coast of Louisiana, in the Gulf of Mexico.  Mr. Hooks is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, American and Louisiana Association of Justice, the Maritime Law Association.  He has served as the attorney for the Louisiana State Democratic Party and is currently an adjunct professor of law teaching Admiralty and Maritime Personal Injury at the Southern Louisiana University Law Center.
