Attorney Samuel C. Ward Jr. is a solo practitioner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his law degree from Southern University Law Center after which he joined the prestigious firm of Unglesby and Marionneaux. After two years of practice with that firm, Mr. Ward opened his own practice, Samuel C. Ward Jr. & Associates.

Mr. Ward's firm has quickly grown throughout Louisiana. In both state and federal courts he has represented more than 1,000 clients. Though he focuses his practice on criminal defense, Mr. Ward has also handled cases involving civil actions ranging from train wrecks to product liability suits against gun manufacturers.

Mr. Ward has represented physicians, police officers, servicemen, attorneys as well as professional musicians with success. However, he prides himself on representing the poor and underprivileged when called upon. When he was 27 Mr. Ward tried his first murder case, pro-bono, which ended in a hung jury. In 2011, Mr. Ward again stood at the side of the indigent and innocent. Though Louisiana is only one of two states that does not require a unanimous judgment, in less than 55 minutes the jury found Ward's client "not guilty" of a second-degree murder by unanimous verdict.
