Carlos M. Lastra has distinguished himself in the practice of family law, as recognized by clients and colleagues through numerous prestigious awards. He was named as a top "Divorce Attorney" in Washingtonian Magazine and in Marquis' Who's Who in American Law.
Mr. Lastra has successfully litigated divorce, custody, support, paternity, domestic violence, property distribution, contempt/enforcement and modification cases. Carlos Lastra has served as co-chair for the Montgomery County Bar Association Family Law Section, a Barrister in the Montgomery Inn of Court, and is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Hispanic Bar Associations.
Carlos Lastra presents programs on handling domestic violence cases and has edited "Pleading and Litigation Tactics in Domestic Cases" for the ninth edition of the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers publication "Maryland Divorce and Separation Law Manual," used by lawyers statewide.
Mr. Carlos Lastra was awarded the 2010 Family Law Practitioner of the Year by the Montgomery County Bar Association, and a community service award for overseeing the Bar's Domestic Violence Project.
Mr. Lastra is licensed in Maryland, Florida and the District of Columbia, the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Southern District and Middle District of Florida.
