Deborah Lynne Potter is a partner at The Jaklitsch Law Group located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Her litigation practice focuses on plaintiffs' personal injury in the areas of motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-falls, wrongful death, premises liability, assault and battery, animal bites and property damage.
Among notable highlights of Ms. Potter's career was a 26.4 million dollar verdict in a design defect case involving an auto accident. An AV-rated* attorney, Ms. Potter has been president of the Anne Arundel Bar Association. Her awards and honors include the 2007 Martindale-Hubbell Justice for All Legal Aid Award and the Edward Shea Professionals Award from the Maryland State Bar Association. She has volunteered with Legal Aid since 2002. She serves on the Court of Appeals Rules Committee and Professionalism Commission.
A native of the area, Ms. Potter grew up in Montgomery County and attended the University of Maryland College Park. She received her law degree with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1990. Her experience includes a clerkship with the Honorable Warren Duckett and private practice insurance defense. She is admitted in Maryland and the U.S. District Court District of Maryland.
