Gary R. Alexander is the senior and founding partner of Alexander & Cleaver, P.A. Through his Annapolis, Maryland, law firm, Mr. Alexander provides valuable representation in utility, regulatory and energy transactions, as well as civil litigation. He serves as local counsel in major mergers and acquisitions for energy companies requiring local counsel in Maryland, including Reliant, Shell, Con Edison and Verizon. Mr. Alexander also offers representation in administrative law and advises clients in business strategies and problem solving.
Gary Alexander earned his Bachelor of Arts from The University of Virginia, and earned his law degree at The George Washington University Law School. He is admitted to practice law in all federal and state courts in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
Practicing law since 1967, Gary Alexander has a distinguished history of public service. Mr. Alexander was appointed as Maryland's people's counsel to the Public Service Commission from1974 to 1979, and contributed 12 years of elected service to the Maryland House of Delegates where he served his last two years in the second highest post as speaker pro tem.
