Laura Kelsey Rhodes focuses on criminal defense and immigration matters. She has successfully defended clients in federal and state court with charges ranging from white collar fraud and sexual offenses to homicide. In a nationally publicized case, she won a not-guilty verdict for outrageous charges against a woman for simultaneously driving too slowly and fleeing police. Clients facing deportation and other harm often hire her for assistance in getting old convictions overturned or sentences modified. Before co-founding the firm, she was Director of Training at the Maryland Public Defender Office, responsible for training 300 attorneys. Ms. Rhodes speaks Spanish, French and Portuguese.
