Profile

“He shall make amends for the harm that he hath done.”  (Lev. 5:16)

Attorneys Paul K. Baker and Andrew M. Abraham draw their passion from the heartfelt belief that holding wrongdoers accountable makes our communities safer.  In every case that we take on, an individual or corporation has needlessly put our client at risk of harm, changing our client’s life forever.

Corporations and individuals often choose to risk public safety for the sake of profits.  Corporations routinely ignore safety concerns and problems with the products they manufacture.  Some trucking companies refuse to invest the time and money required to properly maintain their trucking fleets.  Certain construction companies violate OSHA regulations, cutting corners on work-site safety to get the job done cheaper and faster.  Serious and life-altering injury is often the predictable consequence of these choices.  As lawyers who represent consumers and workers who suffer these injuries, we zealously seek to hold these wrongdoers accountable.  Our clients benefit from the passion with which we handle their cases.

We also believe that our communities, as a whole, are kept safer when dangerous behavior is recognized and punished.  The accountability we seek to impose has proven to make our communities safer.  In a survey of 264 CEOs of manufacturing companies, 33% admitted that they improved their product lines as a result of the threat of litigation, 35% had improved product safety and 47% had improved warnings to consumers.  Simply put, the threat of lawsuits leads to corporate accountability which, in turn, makes products and services better and safer.

Consumer lawyers are necessary because the government alone cannot protect us.  Government agencies, whether it is the SEC, the FDA, NHTSA or CPSC do not have the manpower or the budget to fully protect the public.  These agencies are often woefully understaffed.  Further, these agencies are staffed by individuals who are not fit to regulate industry, having worked for the very corporations they are responsible for policing.

If you choose to retain Baker & Abraham, you can rest assured that we will be true to our mission, fighting to represent you every step of the way.

  • $5,425,000 settlement for a traumatic brain injuiry victim.  Client had returned to pre-injury IQ but had significant behavioral problems., 2009

Representative Clients:

  • Due to faulty electrical work by an outside company, my husband suffered a brain injury during an accident while at work.  We subsequently filed a personal injury suit represented by another law firm. With the sole breadwinner disabled, and four small children, three with special needs, we were easy targets for an unscrupulous insurance agency or a self-interested attorney. The case did not settle quickly and it appeared we were headed for litigation. At that point, Andrew Abraham, and his firm, was asked to join the case.  Little did we know that decision would change the direction of our case and subsequently, the direction of our lives.   Andrew was brilliant, hard working, innovative and honest (!) from the start.  He purposely kept his caseload small so that he could devote the time and attention needed to maximize the potential of our case. He evaluated our case and told us our strong points and conversely our weaknesses. He worked feverishly to bring out the truth by plugging any holes and to sure up our advantages.  He and his partner, Paul Baker was accessible continuously throughout the duration of our case. Andrew was ready for every detail and every deadline, even when there was a strong possibility of others moving the deadline. Whenever the insurance company, or their (unscrupulous) “experts” tried to sway, or more accurately twist, the details of the case it was unnerving for us. However, that’s when I believe Andrew would get re-energized.  That’s when his own expertise, innovation, and determination would shine, anew!   I noted several times during our case that Andrew could have “advised”, or pressured, us in a direction that would have been not only easier but also more financially expedient for him.  He did not.  Andrew is a very caring person and understands the stress the client is under and that their future may be in his hands. Andrew was never driven by his own bottom line. We found him sincere, honest, and intelligent.  He always went the extra mile for us, and our case. Paul Baker, who also worked on our case, we found no less impressive.  Together they are a very powerful team.  In he end, our outcome literally changed the direction of our lives.  We are now able to comfortably provide for ourselves, and our children, and their needs. We have become unable to think of Andrew and Paul as “our attorney” but rather more proudly, are now honored, to think of them each, a friend., 2006
