Mary Kate Geraghty is an associate with Cooley Manion Jones LLP, where her practice focuses on a wide range of complex business and commercial disputes in state and federal courts.  Mary Kate has represented clients involved in contract disputes, environmental, health and safety litigation, commercial real estate matters, securities litigation, and Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission investigations.  She also has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration proceedings and court-assisted mediation programs.  Prior to joining CMJ in 2008, Mary Kate was part of a three-person trial team that won a multi-million dollar verdict for a child who was injured on an escalator in China. The verdict was reported as number ten on Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly's Largest Verdicts of 2007.

Mary Kate received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1996 and graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2002.  At Wake Forest, she was a member of the National Moot Court Team, received the Moot Court Board Award and was elected into the Order of Barristers.  After graduating from law school, Mary Kate clerked for the Honorable Rosemarie Annunziata of the Virginia Court of Appeals for the 2002-2003 term.  She then practiced for several years in the Washington, D.C. area before relocating to Boston.

Mary Kate is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Maryland, and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.  She has been admitted to practice pro hac vice in various courts, including the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.  Mary Kate is a member of the Massachusetts and Maryland Bar Associations, the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts, and the Boston Bar Association.  Originally from Madison, Connecticut, she now resides in Boston with her husband, Peter.
