  • As a Trustee of Bunker Hill Community College, Attorney Spano governed the college at a time of diminishing public resources, increasing demand for services and the termination of its then president.  He chaired the search committee that hired the current President of the college, Mary Fifield, who has transformed the institution into a Nationally recognized model.   Attorney Spano has served as Driector on the Boards of numerous organizations including the Massachusetts Guardianship Association, Greater Lynn Senior Services, Greater Medford Visiting Nurses Association, Community Family Adult Day Programs, Friends of the Saugus Council on Aging, Planned Giving Advisory Board of North Shore Hospice, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Massachusetts Chapter, National Life Care Planning Law Firms Association and many others.

Verdicts and Settlements:

  • Morrison v.Office of Medicaid of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Morrison case is the first case in the Commonwealth that has upheld a Caregiver Contract.  The Court confirmed that a daughter could be paid compensation to care for her mother, in a victory for all loving children who strive to keep their parents from a nursing home.  We are proud to have paved the road for other children to care for their parents without bankrupting themselves in the process., 2011
