Firm Profile

Profile

To Brian Benner, the primary purpose of tort law—and the goal of his practice—is to prevent injuries and promote safety. He’s not just a personal injury attorney; he’s a safety engineer, a problem solver, a righter of wrongs.

Compensating for Loss

Lawsuits, according to Benner, are the mechanism for dispute resolution in a civil society. They are the way we achieve justice for injured victims and their families, compensating them for their loss not just of wages, but of love, companionship and quality of life. “Our firm serves as a pressure valve for the release of society’s frustration and anger,” says Benner.

Creating a Safer World

Doing personal injury work is more than a profession to Benner—it is an avocation. His commitment goes beyond attaining compensation for his clients. Benner and the other lawyers at his firm work hard every day to prevent injuries and help people live safer, more secure lives.

International Reach

The Law Offices of Benner and Foran handles cases involving vehicular accidents, airplane crashes, medical malpractice, general negligence, products liability and workplace incidents. The firm’s reach is international; based in Farmington Hills, it has offices in New York, California, Florida, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C., as well as London, Geneva, Paris, Berlin and Frankfurt. Here and abroad, the firm is highly successful at winning jury awards in personal injury and disability cases.

Outstanding Results

Benner and his partner Leo Foran have a combined 80 years of legal experience. Some of their multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts include a $23.5 million resolution of a U.S. bus collision involving tourists, a $14 million resolution for Americans injured in a bus crash in England, a $4.2 million verdict against Ford Motor Company and a $3 million settlement for a multi-car collision. In total, the firm has recovered more than $325 million on behalf of injured clients and their families.

Benner is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Association for Justice and the International Bar Association. Prior to becoming an attorney, he served as a U.S. Army combat field medic and as a JAG investigator. Benner has now been chosen by his peers to appear in Michigan Super Lawyers® for the third consecutive year.
