Profile

Karl Numinen of Pence & Numinen, PC, is a dedicated trial attorney with 20 years of experience handling complex litigation in state and federal courts. He proudly represents people accused of serious crimes, going through difficult divorces, or who have been severely injured.

In September 2011, attorney Numinen won a federal court jury trial on behalf of a Grand Rapids business whose independent contractors were claiming hundreds of thousands of dollars in overtime pay.  In December 2011, he won a major victory before the Michigan Supreme Court representing a corrections officer in a non-duty disability claim. These victories join a long list of past successes, including a precedent-setting 1998 stepparent adoption case and a dismissal of charges in a multicount, felony criminal sexual conduct matter.

His reputation as a skilled family law attorney led him to publish numerous articles in Grand Rapids Parenting magazine, and receive the honor of being twice elected to the Family Law Council board for the State Bar of Michigan. He is currently of counsel to the Barone Defense Firm in addition to being a partner at Pence & Numinen, PC. Attorney Karl Numinen practices in Marquette, Michigan, and the surrounding area.
