Michael A. Robbins has been practicing Divorce and Family Law in Bloomfield Hills, MI., Birmingham, MI. and Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb County Michigan since 1981. He concentrates his practice exclusively in Matrimonial law matters, including family law, divorce, child custody, parenting time, spousal maintenance, child support, property division, division of retirement benefits, tax consequences of divorce, annulments, paternity, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, mediation and arbitration, change of domicile, grandparents' rights, domestic violence and post-judgment proceedings.
Mr. Robbins was recently included in the 2012 edition of "The Best lawyers in America" for Divorce and Family Law. He was also showcased in 2011 by Newsweek Magazine as one of the 8 Leaders in Family Law/Divorce in the United States. Mr. Robbins was also named in the New York Times in 2011 as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Michigan. Mr. Robbins is also past chairperson of the family law section of the State Bar of Michigan; past president of the Michigan Inter-Professional Association; and past president of the Michigan chapter of the American Academy of the Matrimonial Lawyers.
Due to Mr. Robbins' extensive experience, he often assists the courts as a mediator and arbitrator in family law disputes. Additionally, he gives frequent lectures and has authored numerous articles on family law. He has also been a guest on "Good Morning America," "The Today Show" and "CBS Good Morning."
Mr. Robbins' philosophy is that every client deserves individual attention and the best representation possible, and he has developed a reputation for attending to the needs of his clients. He also recognizes the emotional trauma and pain many individuals suffer during a divorce. As a result, he offers his clients the time and the experience necessary to successfully guide them through this difficult time.
In every case, Mr. Robbins first attempts to resolve the matter in a quick, civilized, fair and cost-effective way. If the matter cannot be satisfactorily settled, however, he provides aggressive and professional representation in court.
