Profile

William H. Francis has been involved in most aspects of intellectual property law including licensing, validity and infringement studies and opinions, litigation, and counseling clients with international IP portfolios. He co-authored six editions of Thomson West's patent law textbook and taught patent law at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School for 25 years. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Circuits. He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University.
