Brock Hunter is an experienced criminal defense lawyer serving clients across Minnesota. In practice for more than a decade, Brock has handled thousands of cases, representing clients charged with everything from DWI and traffic offenses to drug felonies and violent crimes such as first-degree murder. As a veteran who served as a recon scout in the U.S. Army, Brock also devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing psychologically injured Iraq and Afghan war veterans who find themselves in the criminal justice system.
Brock currently serves as President of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (MACDL) and, from 2005 - 2010, led the organization's efforts for criminal justice reform at the Minnesota Legislature. In 2008, Brock drafted and led passage of pioneering legislation that encourages treatment over incarceration of veterans whose psychological injuries played a role in their criminal offense. Brock regularly speaks across the country on the issue of combat veterans in the criminal courts, educating legal professionals, lawmakers and military members on how our nation can avoid mistakes made with past generations of veterans.
