Profile

Charlie has practiced criminal law for over 14 years. Charlie began his career with the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office in 1995. During his nine years with Ramsey County, Charlie represented clients charged with simple misdemeanors to murder. In 2004, Charlie joined a small law firm practicing civil litigation, criminal defense, and criminal appeals. Charlie joined Caplan Law Firm in 2007. Charlie recognizes that a person facing criminal prosecution also faces the vast resources of the state, and justice can only be served if the person is represented by a lawyer prepared to present a zealous defense. Charlie is an adjunct professor of law at William Mitchell College of Law. He also currently serves as the President of the Ramsey County Bar Association.
