Clayton D. Halunen is the founder of Halunen & Associates, an employment and consumer protection law firm with offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Halunen represents plaintiffs exclusively in cases involving employment law, Sarbanes-Oxley, mass torts, class action litigation, nursing home abuse, civil rights, whistleblower protection and qui tam actions brought under the provisions of the False Claims Act. He has the distinction of obtaining one of the largest verdicts in Minnesota history in a single-plaintiff employment case and has also earned national recognition for his work handling complex class actions involving employee misclassification and overtime claims under the FLSA. Impressively, the United States Supreme Court recently cited one of Mr. Halunen’s cases as setting the appropriate standard for constructive discharge.
Mr. Halunen is a 1991 graduate of Hamline University School of Law, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is also certified as a labor and employment law specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. Halunen's professional affiliations include the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and Taxpayers Against Fraud.
