Profile

Since graduating with honors from law school in 1995, Eric Newmark has practiced in the area of criminal defense. Newmark is a partner in the Minneapolis firm of Birrell & Newmark, Ltd. Newmark represents clients in all types of criminal cases in both state and federal court and also practices in Wisconsin. He has earned many notable acquittals, including a 2006 jury acquittal on charges of first degree murder. Newmark also represents clients before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Additionally, Newmark previously taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Hamline Law School, where he was the advisor to the school's mock trial program. Newmark has been named to the Super Lawyers list every year since 2000.
