Jim, a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, is a principal at Gray Plant Mooty, practicing in the areas of complex commercial litigation, including antitrust, and products liability law. He has tried scores of cases in the state and federal courts and has prosecuted or defended numerous appeals in the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals. He is also a Minnesota Rule 114 Qualified Arbitrator and Mediator and on the AAA’s National Arbitrator Panel. Jim has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America every year since its inception in 1983.  He has also been named a Top 40 Business Litigator for many years. In addition, Jim has been ranked one of Minnesota’s top commercial trial lawyers by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for each year from 2003 to date. He has lectured and written on a variety of subjects -- including Daubert and related issues, antitrust litigation, settlement negotiations, effective approaches to trial practice and ethical considerations and legal liability in the practice of law.
