Profile

John Leunig has concentrated his practice exclusively on the area of criminal defense for almost 20 years. He has handled virtually every type of criminal matter, including cases involving homicide, drugs, serious sex crimes, and armed bank robbery. Licensed to practice in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, Leunig has won countless jury and court trials, big and small. In Hennepin County alone, he has won five straight acquittals (three rape cases, one murder case, and an assault case), and he ended 2007 with back-to-back acquittals in sexual assault trials in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Mr. Leunig is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin -- Madison and William Mitchell College of Law, and in every case he defends he remains true to his motto: failure is not an option.
