Keith Halleland is a founder and shareholder of Halleland Habicht PA, where he chairs the health law practice, and is a founder of the firm's affiliated consulting company, Halleland Habicht Consulting LLC. Keith focuses his work in the areas of regulatory compliance, business transactions, and health care policy. He serves as general counsel for the Health Care Compliance Association and chairs the Advisory Council of the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota. Keith's experience in the health care arena also includes mergers and acquisitions of large hospitals, long-term care, and managed care organizations. He has served as general counsel to the largest high risk insurance pool in the country, and previously created an integrated health system involving seventeen hospitals and a health plan with over one million members, as well as an integrated network of community clinics. Keith formerly served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Miles W. Lord, Chief Judge, United States District Court. He has published numerous articles and is active in the Minnesota State Bar Association, Health Law Section; the American Health Lawyers Association; and the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association (Past President). Prior to Halleland Habicht, Keith co-founded Halleland Lewis Nilan Sipkins & Johnson PA in 1996.
