Profile

Louis Speltz has focused upon trial work and civil disputes since his graduation from law school in 1983.  He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.  He has repeatedly been named a “Super Lawyer,” one of Minnesota’s Top 25 personal injury litigators and one of Minnesota’s Top 100 lawyers by Minnesota Law & Politics -- designations received by less than 1% of Minnesota’s 20,000 plus lawyers.

He was recently inducted into the Council on Litigation Management, an invitation-only non-partisan alliance of corporations, insurance companies, law firms and service providers committed to furthering the highest standards of litigation management.

Mr. Speltz is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an elite organization of accomplished trial lawyers, in recognition of his courtroom skill, reputation and jury trial experience.  His achievements have been noted by Leading Minnesota Attorneys, published by the American Research Corporation.  He has also been named by MPLS.ST.PAUL Magazine as a Top Attorney and by Twin Cities Business as a Super Lawyer.

This recognition comes after 25 years of service to individual and corporate clients throughout the State of Minnesota.  He has a varied litigation practice that extends to areas of personal injury, construction litigation, product liability, insurance litigation, and commercial disputes.

Mr. Speltz joined Bassford Remele in 1997, after spending 13 years with Moss & Barnett, where he was a shareholder and served for many years as the Chairperson of its Litigation Department.
