Profile

Marc S. Berris practices exclusively in the area of criminal defense, with an emphasis on DWI defense, at both the trial and appellate levels. Prior to becoming an attorney, Marc worked for a Twin Cities police department where he personally participated in the detection, arrest, and prosecution of DWI and other criminal offenses. His clients have included professional and collegiate athletes, pilots, physicians, lawyers, and persons in nearly every other field of employment. Marc is one of just a small handful of lawyers with substantial experience representing firearms owners, both in connection with the defensive use of a firearm as well as in challenging denials of pistol carry permits. He is also an NRA-certified firearms instructor. Marc is a member of the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice, the Minnesota Criminal Justice System DWI Task Force, the Minnesota and Hennepin County Bar Associations, and the Douglas K. Amdahl Inn of Court. Marc also serves as an adjunct professor at the William Mitchell College of Law.
