Patrick J. Sauter is an experienced trial lawyer with more than 100 jury trials to his credit.  When a case cannot be fairly resolved by settlement, Mr. Sauter is committed to his clients’ rights to have their disputes decided by a jury.  Clients retain Mr. Sauter on the most difficult and complex cases often involving multi-million dollar damage claims.  During the past 30 years, Mr. Sauter has developed expertise in the areas of personal injury, construction defects, product liability, insurance coverage, and a variety of commercial disputes.

In addition to the private practice of law, Mr. Sauter is actively involved in pro bono work.  For years he was involved with Legal Advice Clinics (n/k/a Volunteer Lawyers Network) and served on the LAC Board.  More recently, he has devoted substantial time to the Chrysalis Pro Bono Safety Project for victims of domestic violence and in 2006, received the Award of Excellence for his service and commitment to the Project.

Mr. Sauter also finds time to be active in a number of professional organizations.  For six years, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association and as President of the MDLA for 2006-07.  Mr. Sauter has served as the State Chairman for the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA) and was selected to be a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).  He is a frequent lecturer on topics of civil litigation and has published articles on a wide range of legal topics.  Time permitting, Mr. Sauter serves as an arbitrator and mediator each year in a number of civil lawsuits. Minnesota Law & Politics has consistently named him a “Super Lawyer” and he was recently recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as an “Attorney of the Year.”
