Profile
Timothy C. Cook became a shareholder at the law firm of Hammargren and Meyer, P.A., in 2007 after spending twenty years as a partner in a large 150-year-old general practice law firm serving the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area. Attorney Cook graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota, earning a B.S. in Urban Studies, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Mitchell College of Law in St Paul, Minnesota, to earn his law degree. He was named to the Super Lawyers List in 2006 and 2009.
In 2001, the Minnesota State Bar certified him as a qualified neutral. As a qualified neutral at a law firm focused on construction law, he is frequently called upon for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) measures, including mediation and binding arbitration. The construction industry is particularly well-suited to the use of ADR and the services of a qualified neutral. When litigation is exceedingly complex, resolving disputes through procedures and forums other than a courtroom often saves both time and money. At the law firm of Hammargren and Meyer, P.A., attorney Cook is an active participant in early mediation and neutral evaluation, as well as acting as a special master for law firm clients or third parties. Attorney Cook can preside over a “mini trial,” or binding arbitration as the case may warrant.
In addition to ADR, the areas of law in which attorney Cook practices include: commercial construction claims; fidelity, guaranty and surety; government contracts; commercial litigation and appeals; mechanics' liens; and residential defect claims litigation for the plaintiff or the defendant.
