Profile

John Campbell, born and raised in McKinney, Texas earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Concordia University at Austin with a major in Secondary Education and minors in religion, Spanish and English. Prior to attending law school, John was a high school English and Spanish teacher, as well as a coach.  He came to St. Louis to attend Saint Louis University School of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude. John was made a member of the Order of the Woolsack. 

John’s practice at The Simon Law Firm consists primarily of working on class action litigation. Cases range from wage and hour violations to environmental claims to a variety of predatory lending.  John also handles select employment discrimination claims and actions involving the mortgage industry.  John has obtained settlements for hundreds of thousands of class members.  John has been recognized as one of the “winningest” plaintiffs attorneys in Missouri.

John is an accomplished appellate attorney, having appeared before the Missouri Supreme Court on several occasions, the Missouri Court of Appeals, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.  John was voted one of the “Most Influential Appellate Attorneys” in Missouri.  

John Campbell is the chair of the Consumer Law Committee, a part of the Business Law Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.  John is also the state coordinator for Public Justice. 

John has established a reputation for aggressive representation that is carried out in a professional manner.  John received the John C. Shepherd Professionalism Award, given to one attorney in St. Louis each year.

John is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois and New York as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Western District of Missouri, and the United States Supreme Court.  John is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Lawyers Association of St. Louis, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the National Association of Consumer Advocates, and the Hispanic National Bar Association.
