Jonathan Laurans has more than 19 years of vast experience defending individuals and corporate clients in criminal cases and representing them in civil matters in Missouri and Kansas, and around the country. Mr. Laurans concentrates his practice on criminal and civil appeals, and pursuing post-conviction relief for the wrongfully convicted. He also litigates a wide variety of disputes in state and federal trial courts throughout the region.

Mr. Laurans has won appeals in the Kansas Supreme Court, the Missouri Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He has won numerous habeas corpus and post-conviction petitions, including the release from prison of the former lieutenant governor of Kansas.In the last 12 months, Mr. Laurans sucessfully advocated two habeas corpus petitions setting aside lengthy sentnces both in excess of 25 years, and an appeal overturning an obstruction of justice conviction.

Mr. Laurans has been called upon to share his expertise as a speaker and writer at continuing legal education programs for the bar.
