Attorney Ransom A. Ellis, III is an attorney with the Springfield, Missouri, firm Ellis, Ellis, Hammons & Johnson. A practicing attorney for more than 35 years, Mr. Ellis received his undergraduate degree from the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He continued his education with Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas, where he received his law degree.

Mr. Ellis served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ralph Kennedy, a member of the National Labor Relations Board and after graduation from law school worked as a field attorney in the National Labor Relations Board’s Regional Office in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1980, he joined his father in the practice of law in Springfield, Missouri, expecting to limit his practice to labor and employment law. Shortly after joining the firm, Mr. Ellis expanded his practice to include the representation of public school districts, private schools, public and private universities in Missouri. 

Mr. Ellis is licensed to practice law in the states of Missouri and Texas; the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the 8th, 4th and 5th Circuits; and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
