Tom chairs the firm's Education and Employment Group, representing more than 300 school districts, colleges, and universities. His practice has included representation of major corporations across the country in individual and class action employment cases. Tom is lead counsel for the firm's representation of a self-insured pool of 460 districts in litigation of employment, civil rights, and constitutional claims. He was co-founder and chairman of the Missouri Council of School Attorneys. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the National Council of School Attorneys. Mr. Mickes is a frequent speaker and author on employment and education issues.
