Richard A. Catalina Jr., a registered U.S. patent attorney, is the founder and managing attorney of Catalina & Associates, A Professional Corporation. The boutique intellectual property law firm has offices in Princeton and Washington Township (Mercer County), New Jersey and New York City, and it specializes in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, licensing, unfair competition and advertising law. The firm serves small to mid-sized tech, life science, military and defense, software and other tech-based companies throughout New Jersey, the metropolitan area, and internationally. Catalina also serves as CEO and director to The Princeton Licensing Group, LLC, located in Princeton, which specializes in intellectual property mining, exploitation analyses, and implementation of comprehensive licensing strategies for maximizing intellectual asset valuation and increasing royalty revenue.

His numerous professional affiliations include the Licensing Executives Society of North America, the New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association, the New Jersey Technology Council, the Biotechnology Council of New Jersey and the Intellectual Property Owners Association. Catalina is also a past chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Catalina received his B.S. in biology and chemistry from Trenton State College (now College of New Jersey) with honors, and his J.D. cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law.
