Stuart J. Lieberman is a founding member of Lieberman & Blecher, P.C., a law firm with offices located in Princeton, New Jersey, and a statewide practice. Mr. Lieberman was admitted to practice law in New Jersey at both the state and federal levels in 1986 and began his career as a deputy attorney general for the state of New Jersey, assigned to the office's environmental protection section. He entered private practice in 1990 and has since counseled and represented many municipalities, businesses, organizations, associations, community groups and individuals in matters related to environmental law, groundwater contamination, government agency challenges, regulatory takings, land use and related litigation. He has successfully litigated many cases in New Jersey state and federal courts, including two cases decided by the state's Supreme Court. The most recent victory, Raleigh Avenue Beach Association v. Atlantis Beach Club, was a landmark decision regarding beach access in the state of New Jersey.
Mr. Lieberman is an active member of several legal and professional organizations, including the New Jersey State Bar Association, where he serves on the board of consultors for the real property section and ASTM International. He is also a co-author of New Jersey Brownfields Practice, a book detailing legal issues relating to the sale of contaminated properties in New Jersey, a frequent lecturer on environmental subjects and a weekly syndicated columnist.
