Tim Anderson defends people accused of white collar and other serious crimes by federal and state authorities. He is an accomplished criminal defense trial lawyer, with over 18 years of experience successfully representing his clients in federal and state courts. Tim has tried over 40 cases to verdict. He counsels clients who are under investigation or being prosecuted for such alleged offenses as tax evasion, mortgage fraud, mail and wire fraud, healthcare fraud, money laundering, environmental crimes, RICO and Hobbs Act crimes, aggravated identity theft, and drug conspiracies. Tim is known for his intelligent, compassionate, and persuasive representation of his clients.
His recent successes include trial acquittals of failure to file tax returns and of Lacey Act violations, as well as dismissals of tax evasion and of drug conspiracy charges. In addition, he obtained a drastically reduced federal sentence for a client convicted of being an Armed Career Criminal, after an appeal to the United States Supreme Court, which ultimately led to the vacating of a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years, resulting instead in a sentence of “time served” (just under four years).
Tim is AV ("Preeminent") Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, for highest legal ability and ethical standards. He serves on the federal CJA conflicts panel for the District of New Jersey.
