Mr. Udell, a partner in the Litigation group, is engaged in the practice of complex commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense, and has litigated a wide variety of matters in both federal and state courts. Prior to joining Olshan in 2005, Mr. Udell served for six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. There he prosecuted a wide variety of federal criminal actions, tried ten jury trials and argued several times before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Earlier, Mr. Udell practiced law at a large New York firm, where he handled various litigation matters, including the defense of a series of alleged nationwide consumer-protection class actions brought in multiple state and federal jurisdictions. Mr. Udell began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Edward R. Korman, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of New York, and he also served as a public defender in Manhattan for two years at the prestigious Office of the Appellate Defender.
