Mr. Stern counsels clients in all areas of real estate including sales and acquisitions of all types of property interests, as well as financing and construction, with an emphasis on commercial leasing. Mr. Stern's leasing expertise extends to the representation of landlords and tenants for leases involving shopping centers (malls, outlets and strip centers), stores, offices, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, parking lots and garage facilities. Additionally, Mr. Stern regularly handles matters involving general business, corporate and commercial transactions. In his more than 25 years of private practice, Mr. Stern has also counseled clients extensively in the areas of trademarks and copyrights, employment and entertainment law, and litigation. Mr. Stern has made several appearances on national television as a legal expert on CNBC's "Money Talk," and has acted as a business and legal consultant to ABC News' "20/20."

Mr. Stern has been repeatedly selected as a Super Lawyer by the publisher of Law and Politics Magazine since 2006.

Mr. Stern is the author of Buy Your Own Business: The Definitive Guide to Identifying and Purchasing a Business You Can Make a Success, a book (published in 1998 by Macmillan Books, a division of Simon & Schuster) on becoming an entrepreneur in the 21st Century and was also a contributing author and small business editor for Beat the System, a consumer, legal and business book published in 1997 by Rodale Press. Mr. Stern has written extensively for several major publications, including New York Magazine, Working Woman and Personal Finance Magazine on issues involving real estate, business and personal finance. He was also the small business and legal affairs editor for AT&T Small Business Solutions, a quarterly journal published by Business Week for AT&T, and in that capacity, wrote numerous articles for would-be and established entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Prior to joining Olshan, Mr. Stern was a partner at Dreier LLP in the Real Estate Department. His legal experience includes having practiced in the real estate department at prominent law firms in Manhattan and Miami, and more recently, heading the real estate and transactional department at Gursky & Partners, LLP.
