Mr. Warshavsky has litigated a variety of matters in both state and federal courts throughout the United States, as well as in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Warshavsky has been successful in jury and bench trials throughout the country, and has been counsel of record in more than 70 reported decisions.
Since 2009, Mr. Warshavsky has been litigating a wide range of cross-practice matters, including complex business litigation, bankruptcy law, white collar criminal investigation, securities and corporate finance, as a result of the ongoing Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities Ponzi scheme proceeding, as Baker Hostetler serves as the court-appointed counsel to the Trustee. Mr. Warshavsky is responsible for coordinating and overseeing hundreds of lawyers across the U.S. and around the world as they work to recover billions of dollars in assets for the customers of BLMIS who lost their principal investments in the fraud. Mr. Warshavsky serves as lead attorney in more than 200 of the Trustee's lawsuits, including actions against HSBC, UBS, Bank Austria and Cohmad Securities Corporation. He is also a member of several teams which have built cases and brought actions against other international institutions and he was part of the teams that successfully negotiated $5 billion settlement with the Picower Estate, the $1 billion settlement with the Tremont funds and the $500 million settlement with the Carl Shapiro family.
