Russell M. Yankwitt is a founding partner of Yankwitt & McGuire, LLP, a successor law firm to Yankwitt & Associates, LLC, in White Plains, New York. Russell graduated with cum laude honors from Cornell Law School in 1996 and began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Thomas C. Platt in the Eastern District of New York. He then worked in the commercial litigation department of the international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLP, for four years before accepting a position as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York in 2001. For the next seven years, he proudly represented the United States in a variety of defensive and affirmative litigations before leaving to establish his own law firm.
In private practice, Russell has successfully represented a wide range of clients, including: Landry’s Restaurants in employment, premises liability and real estate litigations in several states; a wealthy California resident in a multimillion-dollar contract dispute; several senior-level investment bankers in employment disputes; and three hedge funds defrauded by investors who were later charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Russell has also secured hundreds of thousands of dollars for plaintiffs in personal injury litigations.
