Profile
Managing partner Stephan Peskin of Tolmage, Peskin, Harris, Falick is a well-known Manhattan trial lawyer who represents victims of personal injury and wrongful death and their families. Since he began his career in 1968 as a personal injury attorney and New York construction accident lawyer, he has achieved numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.
A past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), Mr. Peskin helped form Trial Lawyers Care (TLC), the largest pro bono organization in the nation, which was set up to aid the families of victims of Sept. 11. Mr. Peskin himself represented the first family to file a claim for its losses, and he obtained the third highest verdict for another client who had lost a loved one in that tragedy. Altogether, his firm successfully represented 18 families through TLC.
Mr. Peskin is a well-known leader within his community and his field. He is a senior member of the board of directors of the American Association for Justice (formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association, or ATLA), as well as a member of the board of directors for the NYSTLA. He has published several books and articles on the subject of personal injury representation and trial practice, and he is a highly sought-after lecturer and teacher.
