Attorney Douglas Coppola of the Law Offices of Douglas Coppola in Buffalo, New York, has been a practicing attorney in civil litigation for more than 33 years.
As an experienced trial attorney with extensive litigation experience in state and federal court, he currently focuses his practice on mediation and arbitration. He is a sought-after mediator and arbitrator in cases of personal injury and commercial disputes, including those involving product liability, labor law matters, commercial premises liability, insurance coverage and medical/dental malpractice. Douglas is a member of the roster for mediations, arbitrations and neutral evaluations for the 8th Judicial District Supreme Court, and a member of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York's mediation roster. In 2010, he was involved in more than 70 mediations totaling more than $26 million in settlements and 55 arbitrations as a neutral or sole arbitrator. He has been involved in more than 300 case resolutions as mediator, neutral or sole arbitrator in the past two years. He has also been active in alternative dispute resolution on behalf of his own personal clients for more than 15 years.
In recognition of his legal accomplishments, Douglas was selected for inclusion in the Business First 2007, 2008, and 2009 editions of "Who's Who In Law Western New York" for arbitration and mediation as selected by his peers in the legal community. Douglas received his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1975.
