Mr. Anderson has been representing clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases arising from motor vehicle accidents, defective products, construction site accidents, medical negligence and unsafe premises for over 29 years. In addition, he is frequently asked to serve as both arbitrator and mediator in personal injury cases, as well as in commercial and business disputes by agreement of counsel for the parties. Honors and Awards:
- Mr. Anderson has been honored by the New York State Bar Association for his contributions to continuing legal education programs, by the Rensselaer County Bar Association, for his efforts during Settlement Term, and by the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association, for his contributions as President from 1998 to 1999. Most recently Mr. Anderson was honored for his efforts in writing a chapter on Products Liability Law for the New York State Bar Association's two volume treatise: The Plaintiff's Personal Injury Action in New York.
Bar/Professional Activity:
- Mr. Anderson is a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Albany, Rensselaer and Saratoga Bar Associations; and is past President of the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association. He has also served on several committees of the Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association, and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Scholarly Lectures and Writings:
- Over the past three decades, Mr. Anderson has been asked to lecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to engineering students, for the American Society of Safety Engineers, at numerous Decisions programs for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, for the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association, New York State Bar Association, American Association for Justice and community organizations. Most recently, Mr. Anderson wrote the chapter entitled "The Plaintiff's Products Liability Case in New York: A Practitioner's Guide", which appears in the two volume set: The Plaintiff's Personal Injury Action in New York State, published in 2008 by the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Anderson continues to teach continuing legal education programs to lawyers on trial advocacy, discovery and substantive areas of practice relating to personal injury practice. He also lectures on and is actively involved in the mediation and arbitration of personal injury, business and commercial dispute claims.
Verdicts and Settlements:
- Mr. Anderson has obtained numerous multi-million dollar settlements and awards on behalf of his clients in the courts in the Capital District, including a verdict in Albany County Supreme Court of $4.8 million in a products liability case, reported as one of the highest verdicts in upstate New York.
Educational Background:
- Mr. Anderson graduated Cum Laude from Colgate University in 1978, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1981.
