Fred W. DeVore III is a managing partner of the law firm of DeVore, Acton & Stafford, P.A., in Charlotte, North Carolina. For the past 15 years, Fred has had a legal practice focus on civil litigation in the areas of catastrophic injury, wrongful death, construction litigation, insurance bad faith, contract litigation and condemnation law. Fred was selected for inclusion in North Carolina Super Lawyers for the years 2007 through 2010.
Mr. DeVore has litigated more than 40 appellate cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, North Carolina Supreme Court and the United States Fourth Circuit and is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Fred has negotiated and settled or tried many cases in excess of $1 million dollars. In one high-profile case in 2006, he and his law partner, Troy Stafford, obtained a settlement of more than $10 million dollars for a seriously injured client.
Fred W. DeVore is currently the vice-chair of the national Construction Defects Committee for the American Association of Justice. Fred has lectured at the national convention of this well-recognized trial lawyers association. He is a past vice-president of the Bobbitt Inns of Court, which is an organization dedicated to training young lawyers on trial techniques.
