Profile

Michael J. Lewis has been practicing law since 1970. He founded Mike Lewis Attorneys, a law firm concentrating on personal injury cases, including those involving serious car accidents, truck collisions, ATV accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, defective products, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, Social Security Disability and wrongful death. He is also experienced in handling eminent domain claims. From his office in Winston Salem, Mr. Lewis represents clients throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Mr. Lewis is a frequent speaker at legal education seminars sponsored by North Carolina Advocates for Justice, covering topics such as punitive damages, wrongful death, evidence and eminent domain. He also served as an adjunct clinical professor at Wake Forest University.

He is a lifetime member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and a sustaining member of American Association for Justice. He is Master of the Wake Forest University Joseph Branch Inn of Court. He holds membership in the American Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates and Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. He was selected for inclusion in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Association for Justice.

In 1986, Mr. Lewis was named North Carolina Auto Tort Lawyer of the Year by the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has been recognized in both Personal Injury and Eminent Domain in the Best Lawyers in America listing each year since 1995. Further, he received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was selected for inclusion in the North Carolina Super Lawyers listing in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
