Profile

Richard Boyette is a partner in the Raleigh office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP. His practice has consisted of a wide variety of defense and commercial litigation, as well as commercial real estate transactions. He has also developed a top North Carolina mediation practice, mediating over 1,200 disputes in a broad range of subject matters. Richard has been active in DRI, and served as its president in 2004-2005. At his urging, DRI established the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence, a charitable foundation having as its mission the education of state court judges. He was elected president of the NFJE in July, 2009.  He is a past president of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, which honored him as the first recipient of its J. Robert Elster Award for Professional Excellence in 2004.
